Kwanriam Floating Market in Bangkok, Thailand

Khwan-Riem floating market is a floating market in the middle of the city along with the shady Saen Saeb canal and connected both sides between Bam Pen Nuea Temple (Serithai 60 street) and Bang Pheng Tai Temple (Ramkhamhaeng 187 street) with a boat bridge that connects Bam Pen Nuea and Bang Pheng Tai Temple. This is therefore the first floating market with a bridge connecting the culture on both sides of the canal.

The market open from 7.00 am to 18.00 pm on Saturday, Sunday and public holiday.

The highlight of this place aside from being reminiscent of the old atmosphere on Rattanakosin era of Thai life. They’re offer food to monks by boat every Saturday – Sunday in the morning and listening to dharma and watching Thai games show that along with the Saen Saep river for a long time during old history. Nowaday this history and story still on but not much than old periods.

Inside the market, there are many delicious foods, beverages and desserts that you can try and buy. Also, they have souvenirs, clothes and gifts shop for sell, too. There is also a small zoo for children to learned about animals life.

By Bus:

  • Route 1 – Sukhaphiban 2 Road (Serithai) take bus #27, #502
  • Route 2 – Sukhaphiban 3 Road (Ramkhamhaeng) take Bus #113, #58, #Por 113 or #Por 514

By Car:

  • Directly from The Mall Bangkapi, passing Suan Siam, you will find the entrance of the temple, turn into Bam Phen Nuea Temple on the right side the U Turn. You will find Serithai 60 street
  • Run straight from Ramkhamhaeng University, passing Ban Ma Intersection, passing through Soi. Mistine entered to Bang Pheng Tai Temple. On the left hand side, you will see Ramkhamhaeng 187 street.
