Kegon Waterfall in Nikko, Japan

Kegon Waterfall is 100 meters height and one of the three most beautiful waterfalls of Japan. It is also a popular spot for autumn foliage in mid-late October. In the winter, the waterfall will solidify. Kegon Waterfall located in Chugushi, Nikko, Tochigi Prefecture of Japan. The waterfall forms when the river flows from the flow of lava. There are about 12 small waterfalls on the back and side of the cascade. This is due to the leakage through several cracks between the mountains and the flow of lava.

Admission fees: 550 Yen
Opening-closing time: 8.00 am to 17.00 pm (March – November) and 9.00 am – 16.30 pm (December – February)

How to get there:

  • Kegon Falls is not far from the Chuzenjiko Onsen bus terminal.
  • From JR or Tobu Nikko Station, take a bus about 50 minutes and costs 1,150 yen. Or use Tobu free pass tickets can be used with unlimited ride between Nikko and Chuzenjiko Onsen for 2,000 yen.
