Hanuman Tok Temple in Gangtok is named after the Hindu God- Lord Hanumana, Hanuman Tok is a popular temple of Gangtok and is maintained by Indian Army. The legend says, when Lord Hanuman was hunting for Sanjeevani Booti (herb) to heal Lord Lakshman, he rested at this spot for some time. The temple is perched at an altitude of 7200 feet; thereby, providing a brilliant view of the surrounding. Also the sight of the third highest peak of the world, Kanchenjunga, can be enjoyed from this point. The cremation ground of the royal family of Sikkim is at a short distance from the temple.
