About Liu Yong (1720-1804)

Introduction
Liu Yong (1720-1804), courtesy name Chongru, nickname Shi’an, was born in Zhucheng, Shandong, a politician and calligrapher in the Qing Dynasty, and the eldest son of Liu Tongxun, a famous minister. In the 16th year of Qianlong in the Qing Dynasty (1751), he passed the examination as a Jinshi, an official to the Minister of the Ministry of Officials, a Bachelor of Tiren Pavilion, and the Prince and Taibao. He is famous all over the world for being law-abiding, honest and honest.
In the ninth year of Jiaqing (1804), he died at the age of eighty-five. He posthumously presented the crown prince Taibao with the posthumous title of Wenqing. Liu Yong had profound attainments in calligraphy and was a famous calligraphy master at that time known as the “Prime Minister of Thick Ink“.
