Korakuen Garden is a large garden attached to 1/3 of the garden that is regarded as the most beautiful in Japan. And is the main tourist destination of Okayama Prefecture as well Located beside Okayama Castle, which has views of the castle as well. Was built by the order of the Shogun in the year. It was built in 1687 as a family vacation spot and to welcome important guests but opened for tourists in 1884 after the end of the feudal era. The garden consists of general components of Japanese-style gardens such as Large ponds, flowing waterways, walkways and hills for viewing gardens But there are still many parts that are more special than others, such as a wide lawn area, cherry trees, maple trees, rice fields, and archery fields.

How to get there:

  • about 1.5 kilometers from Okayama Station. If you walk, take about 30 minutes, or take the tram to Shiroshita Station and walk about 10 minutes.
