Chiang Rai is the northernmost province of Thailand. It is 829 kilometers from Bangkok , with an area of approximately 11,678 square kilometers. Most of the terrain is mountainous. There are fertile plains along the banks of many rivers. The administration is divided into 16 districts and 2 sub-districts, namely Muang District, Chiang Khong District, Phan District, Mae Chan District, Chiang Saen District, Mae Sai District, Mae Suai District, Wiang Pa Pao District, Pa Daet District, Wiang Chai District. Travel
By car
you can travel in a circle using Highway 11 from In Buri. Singburi Province Passing through Tak Fa – Wang Thong – Phitsanulok – Uttaradit – Den Chai – Phrae – Rong Kwang Turn left onto Highway No. 103 to Ngao District, turn right onto Highway No. 1 through Phayao to Chiang Rai, a distance of 785 kilometers.
On the way back, take the Chiang Rai-Chiang Mai route. Pass Mae Suai District – Wiang Pa Pao – Mae Krachan – Doi Saket The scenery on both sides of the road is a beautiful forest. When arriving in Chiang Mai, take Highway No. 11 through Lamphun and Lampang, confluence with Highway No. 1 to travel back to Bangkok.
