In Xipingou Village, Anxi, there is a beautiful fairy lake. A strange orchid grows on the cliff beside the lake. A little girl picking tea and flowers fell down a hundred-foot cliff in order to pick a strange orchid… From then on, the tea grown here has the fragrance of orchid. In order to express gratitude to this beautiful and kind girl, the local people named this tea “Tieguanyin”.

“Iron” is homophonic to “tea”, and “Guanyin” symbolizes beauty. This legend has become a hymn that people in tea country can never finish singing!
