Suicide…the final solution of “depression”

Suicidal Depression – How would you recognize if someone we know is suffering from depression? His/her words or actions that we think is nothing could be the suicidal warning signs.

Depression is a silent threat to our society. One study found that people with depression were many times more likely to commit suicide than normal people. Recognizing the symptoms of depression will increase a chance of recovery due to treatments and thus reduce the suicidal risks. If you happen to have suicide comes into your mind, you should keep yourself away from weapons, drugs, other means of suicide, and particularly alcohol and drugs.

Alcohol and drugs may seem to help relieve at first, it in fact, increases depression and a suicidal thought. Avoid any situations that make you feel obsessed. If medication is needed, it must be closely supervised by a doctor and family. Consider having nutrient-dense foods for your dietary since abnormal sugar levels, dehydration, chemical consumption from processed foods such as flavoring agents, synthetic colors, and preservatives can cause mood swings. It is also important that you get enough sleep and practice meditation to calm your mind and create wisdom in harness with your own thoughts.

Friends and family members all play crucial roles in depression treatments. Always observe and make sure that prescriptions are followed, if your friend or a close person is suffering from depression. Doing some activities together with them may help distract the depression condition. Paying attention to politeness and compassion can help alleviate depression triggers. Depression management with the willpower of family and friends can help reduce a risk of sudden suicidal thoughts. If still unsure, you should seek professional consults.

According to a report from the Department of Mental Health, Thailand reported 4,137 suicidal cases in 2018, caused by mental disorders (7.45%) and depression (6.54%). The cases increased to 14.4 person per 100,000 population in 2019, which was caused by an increase in depression to 7.8%. Currently, Thailand has approximately 2 million cases of depression.
