Steven Spielberg Says The Dark Knight Should Be Best Picture Oscar Nominee

Following the announcement of the list of films nominated for this year’s Oscar for Best Picture. which has movies that are top-grossing movies of the world in recent times, such as Avatar: The Way of Water and Top Gun: Maverick, which was nominated for this grand prize. Director Steven Spielberg, who was nominated for Best Picture this year for The Fabelmans, spoke out in an interview which is like the new success of blockbuster movies but for him, The Dark Knight should have been the first major sequel to win Best Picture.

“I feel motivated by the fact that those movies have received so many nominations. But it happened too late for a movie that should have been nominated years ago. That’s Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight, which is sure to be nominated for Best Picture today.”

The Dark Knight debuted in 2008 and is still regarded as one of the best superhero films of all time to this day. That year, the Academy increased the number of films nominated from five to ten.
