This story is about what happened when attending a funeral. More than 20 years ago, most funerals of rural people were done in their own yards, by setting up a funeral shed and placing the coffin under the shed.
Once, Xiao Ye and her second aunt went to attend the funeral of her eldest uncle. The eldest uncle had been living alone since his aunt passed away, which was very miserable. Later, he had a bad relationship with his son and daughter-in-law. Unable to think about it, he hanged himself under the pergola of his home.
For three days after the funeral, distant relatives stayed with my uncle’s family in the same village and at his home and quietly discussed the matter of hanging himself in private.
The second aunt in particular talked a lot and seemed to have a lot of curiosity about suicide by hanging. A group of relatives chatted until three or four o’clock in the middle of the night.
The second aunt said she wanted to go to the toilet, but she didn’t dare to go alone, so she called a girl from the junior generation. Accompany each other.

After hearing this, the junior girl suddenly thought of something. She was so frightened that she ran away screaming. When she called people out of the house, she arrived at the second aunt’s place and found her eyes turned white and fell to the ground.
Everyone was trying to help her. She was carried in, and it took a while for her to recover. After being asked, she said that she felt a wire tightening around her neck and hanging her up.
But no one else saw any wire on the road, but there was indeed a red mark on the second aunt’s neck. Fortunately, no one was killed.
