Is Zhu Shuzhen from the Southern Song Dynasty or the Northern Song Dynasty?

Is the birthplace wrong? Or is the relationship between Er Zhu’s uncle and nephew purely affiliated? Another example is that Zhu Shuzhen’s poems are full of grievances, and her sadness can be seen everywhere. What is it that makes her heartbroken? Some people say that it was because of dissatisfaction with the marriage, because his uncle married him to a person who was three-part human and seven-part ghost in order to pay off his gambling debts.

Some people say that she once had a happy married life, but her husband had another love after he became an eunuch, and the news broke her down and she died of depression. Another example is that because she once wrote the word “Sheng Chazi”, some people said that she misbehaved and had a trip to the Sangjian Pu Shang; but some people tried their best to defend her against false accusations, and this matter is still a suspicious case. More importantly, since there is no clear record of Zhu Shuzhen’s birth and death years, it is still unclear whether she is from the Northern Song Dynasty or the Southern Song Dynasty.

Tian Rucheng’s “West Lake Tour Zhiyu” in the Ming Dynasty recorded: “If you have Mrs. Wei at the same time as Shuzhen, you can also compose poetry. Taste wine to invite Shuzhen, make Xiao Huan dance in a team, because of poetry, and the rhyme of flying snow full of mountains, Shuzhen is drunk with the aid of the five masterpieces of writing.”

It is generally believed that Mrs. Wei, who asked Zhu Shuzhen for poetry, was the wife of Zeng Bu. Zeng Bu was the younger brother of Zeng Gong, one of the “Eight Great Masters of the Tang and Song Dynasties”. If Zhu Shuzhenru and Zeng Bu’s wife were poet friends, they must be from the Northern Song Dynasty.

Legend has it that after Zhu Shuzhen’s death, her parents were so devastated that they couldn’t bear to read her heartbroken poems, so they burned the manuscripts of her poems. His parents are still alive, so it can be inferred that Zhu Shuzhen will not live long. Zhou Qingyuan in the Ming Dynasty researched that Zhu Shuzhen was only twenty-two years old when he died.

According to Zhu Shuzhen’s poem “Lvting at the Green Pavilion at Night”, the phrase “Feng Chuan Gong leaked to the lake”, she was still alive when Emperor Gaozong moved the capital to Lin’an in the eighth year of Shaoxing (1138). Judging from the “Three Songs of Yuan Ye”, the poem describes his meeting with his lover in Yuan Ye, and in the singing and drum music, the situation of two loves is vivid on the paper.

If Zhu Shuzhen and Mrs. Wei were at the same time, she should have been in her 80s during the Shaoxing period of Emperor Gaozong (1131-1162), and the 80-year-old woman still has such enthusiasm, which is contrary to common sense.

In addition, at the end of the “Xuan Gong Tu Ji” written by Zhu Shuzhen, there is an inscription “On the third day after the second month of spring in the third year of Shaoding, the book of Zhu Shi Shuzhen, a layman of Youqi in Qiantang”, Shaoding is the era name of Lizong in the Southern Song Dynasty. The age is a clear proof that Zhu Shuzhen was a native of the Southern Song Dynasty. Others pointed out that Zhu Shuzhen’s works have a typical Southern Song style, and the so-called “Yuanyou style” has disappeared (Yuanyou is the era name of Zhezong in the Northern Song Dynasty).

In particular, Zhu Shuzhen’s famous sentence “I would rather hold a fragrance on a branch to grow old than dance with the yellow leaves in the autumn wind” (“Yellow Flower”) is a translation of the poem of Zheng Sixiao, a patriotic poet in the Southern Song Dynasty. “), Zheng Sixiao was a native of the late Song and early Yuan, which is an unquestionable fact.

According to this, some people think that Mrs. Wei, who is a poet friend with Zhu Shuzhen, is not the wife of Zeng Bu, but another upper-class woman surnamed Wei in the Southern Song Dynasty. It is more credible that Zhu Shuzhen lived in the Southern Song Dynasty.
