W. Edward Deming Theory

Dr. W. Edwards Deming’s outlook on quality was simple but radical. He asserted that organizations that focused on improving quality would automatically reduce costs while those that focused on reducing cost would automatically reduce quality and actually increase costs as a result.

Deming’s theory of profound knowledge is a management philosophy grounded in systems theory. It is based on the principle that each organization is composed of a system of interrelated processes and people which make up the system’s components.

W. Edward Deming’s Theory

W. Edward Deming gave the idea of ​​the process of controlling work for the best results, consisting of 4 steps, known as PDCA:

1. Planning (Plan-P) is a plan before taking action.

2. Operation (Do-D) is the implementation of the plan.

3. Check (Check-C) is a check to make sure that the work is in accordance with the standardization plan.

4. Amendment (Action-A) here has two meanings, which is to compare with the goals set. If the goal is not achieved, new amendments must be made and the standard is set. In the event that the goal is achieved, the standard must be maintained.
