A cup of black coffee provides only 2 calories and even adding milk, sugar, or creamer, it still gives less energy than an apple. One tablespoon of creamer will only provide about 20 calories and 3 grams of carbohydrates.

Opting for apples instead of coffee in the morning not only gives you the above benefits, but also avoids any health implications from coffee. If you still cannot give up coffee in the morning, you may have an apple half an hour before to give your body more energy and reduce the effects of caffeine.
