History of Wat Don Chai
Wat Rat Maha Nikaya was granted permission to set up a temple in 1902 and was granted Wisung Kham Sima in 1974. From the story of the abbot We have the original name of the temple, 2 names together.
Mae Kha Wak Temple reason for this name Because this temple area on the west side has the Mae Kha River flowing through. Wat Pong Sanuk was originally a checkpoint in Chiang Mai. It looks like a hill when the battle with the Burmese won, so the temple’s name was changed to “Wat Don Chai” instead.
