Story 138: Jiang La and Jie La
Jiang La and Jie La
Author: Anonymous
In a village, there are two neighbors: one is poor and the other is rich; one is thin and the other is fat; one is smart and the other is stupid. Living in a small mud house is a smart poor man named Thin Man Jiang La; his neighbor is Fat Man Jie La, a rich fool. He lives in a Tibetan-style high-rise building with four pillars and eight beams, and spends his days thinking about bad things. idea. However, he was never defeated by Jiang La. It was true: he didn’t pick up the cow dung here, and lost the basket there.
1. Hair transplant
Fatty Jiang has run out of food!
He looked out from the hole in the wall and saw his neighbor Jela, who was eating and drinking in the building. The lamb legs and beef were piled up in front of him. A layer of ghee. Jiang La touched his neck and had an idea.
Not long after, Jiang La appeared under the building of the rich man Jie La, riding an old horse that could even be blown by the wind, humming cheerful Tibetan opera tunes. Jela stuck out her bald head from the window and shouted: “Ge! Jiang! When you pass my master’s door, why don’t you dismount your horse? Doesn’t the horse untie its bell?”
“Master, please forgive me!” Jiang La kept bending down and saluting on his horse, like a reed in the wind. “I want to rush to the Zong government and plant the hair of Lord Zongben!”
“What? Hair transplantation? Can hair be transplanted?” The fat man was shocked and opened his mouth so wide that he could at least stuff a leg of lamb into it. At the same time, I couldn’t help but touch my bare head. It was like a stone floor with no grass growing on it.
“If you don’t believe me, just follow me to Zongben’s place and have a look!” Jiang La kicked the old horse and was eager to start, looking very proud.
“Jiang! Jiang! Wait a minute!” The rich man’s tone softened, with a smile on his fat face, “I mean, like my head, can it be broken…”
“Yes, of course I can! I’ve had more hair on a head like yours than I’ve eaten radishes!” Jiang La said simply, and the smile on his face grew even more. “However, I have black hair and want to send a load of highland barley to my family.”
After he finished speaking, he ordered the old horse to leave. The rich man Jela heard that a load of highland barley was like cutting off one of his fingers. He was heartbroken for a long time, but finally he figured it out: “A load of highland barley will make a head of black hair grow. It’s cost-effective! It’s cost-effective!”
He delivered the highland barley to Jiang La’s house and stood at the door waiting, waiting, until the sun turned west, before Jiang La came over on horseback, so tired that he was covered in sweat. In fact, Jiang La did not go to Zongben’s house, but hid in the mountain and watched. When he saw Jie La sending highland barley, he hurried down the mountain. He washed his hands, simmered the mulberries, sat on the mat, spread a piece of bare sheepskin on his knees, asked Jurah to sit next to him, rested her bare head on the sheepskin, then took out a very sharp awl and chanted six words. Zi Zhenjing, struck Jira hard on the head.
“Ah Cuocuo! It hurts me to death!” He stretched his neck and opened his mouth to shout, like a bull that had been stabbed.
“Master! Don’t scream. If you scream again, your hair will stop growing!” Jiang La took out another yak tail, inserted it into the hole he just poked, blew on it, and pierced it with another awl!
“Oh my God!” Yula jumped up, covering her head and jumping around the house.
“Master, the round roots have to be planted pit by pit, and the hair has to be planted one by one! A head as big as yours will have to poke at least a hundred holes!”
“What? More than a hundred holes! Can I survive this?”
“I’ve had people with hair transplanted, some dead and some alive. I’m lucky, I don’t think I’ll die.” After Jiang La finished speaking, he picked up a sharp awl and poked Jela’s head.
“Oh my God! I want my life and my hair!” The fat man ran away in knots. He hid upstairs and refused to come down.

2. Slaughter the calf
When the thin man Jiang La came back from Shigatse, his family was in a mess. It turned out that the only calf in their family was captured by the fat man Jie La to pay off his debt.
He casually lifted up his eldest son’s tattered felt hat, took out an old Pulu shirt, and slowly slipped into the rich man’s backyard, found his calf, packed it with a Pulu shirt, and put on the tattered felt hat, like a Hold her like a child and walk out openly.
Not far from home, I met Yula. He quickly gave way, saluted, and said, “Master, we are very unlucky. The child is very ill. I took him to see a Tibetan doctor.” The rich man saw that the way he held the child was strange, and he struck the Pupu shirt with his whip. , the calf was in pain and cried “moo”. Jiang La quickly said: “Master, the child is calling mother, I have to go back quickly! Go back quickly!”
He brought the calf home and knew that he could not save it, so he slaughtered it, stewed the head, and gave it to his three poor sons to eat and satisfy their greed. They had not seen meat for a long time! The cow’s head was stewed in a clay pot, and the three sons watched around. When the pot was boiling, the youngest son clapped his hands and shouted: “Abba! Abba! Water is spitting out of the mouth of the cow!”
Unexpectedly, the fat Jieela found that the calf was missing, so he went to Jiang La’s mud hut to look for it. Jiang La grabbed a wooden spoon and hit his eldest son on the head: “Zhuoka, don’t spit!” Then he hit the second and third oldest children on the head: “Daka (horse’s mouth)! Luka (sheep’s mouth)! Don’t spit! Quickly take out the wooden bowl, and Abba will serve you with Huoma Tuba!” Ra found nothing and went elsewhere.
After three days, the calf was still not found. Jie La remembered the words “cow spits water”, so she called Jiang La’s youngest son into the house and asked with a smile on her face: “Children, have you eaten beef these days?”
“Eat! Eat!” the little guy replied quickly, “Eat beef, drink broth, gnaw bones…”
“What happened next?” The fat man saw that he had a chance and rewarded him with a piece of milk dregs.
“Later, later,” the little guy narrowed his eyes: “My father woke me up and asked me to pick up cow dung!”
“Bah! You mean you’re dreaming!” The rich man was angry.
“Yes! Yes! It’s a dream.”
“Get out!” the rich man roared, taking back the piece of milk dregs he had just given.

3. Touch gold coins
The fat Jie La came out from home and saw Jiang La standing by the river that was about to freeze, with a sad face and ready to jump down.
“Jiang! Jiang! You want to die!” Jela said.
“Master, you don’t know, don’t mention how unlucky I am! I went to the city today to go to the market, and I exchanged a cow for five gold coins. Those are real gold coins! They are yellow and shiny, and you don’t want to eat them just by looking at them! Who knows, I just went to the river to drink water, and all five yellow gold coins fell into the water!” Jiang La said sadly, with tears in his eyes.
“Come on, friend! Compared with money and life, life is more important!” Jela heard that there were gold coins in the water, and her face turned into a smile. When speaking to the pauper Jiang La, his tone became as soft as silk: “Go back! Go back! The water is cold and the river is deep. If you jump in, you are not seeking death!”
Jiang La sighed and went home after listening to the rich man’s words.
At this time, the fat man was so proud that he said to himself: “Jiang! Jiang! They say you are smarter than a rabbit, but in fact you are dumber than a yak. Just wait and see, these five shiny yellow gold coins , It will fall into my pocket today.” After that, it rolled into the river like a ball. The river was really deep and the water was really cold. The fat man couldn’t reach the bottom at all. He drank several sips of water and couldn’t bear it. He shouted: “Help! Help!”
Jiang La walked out from behind the big stone by the river and asked with a smile: “Master, compared with money or life, which one is more important?”

4. Milk the donkey
By the river, there is a natural pasture with green grass. The whole village likes to graze their animals here: cows, sheep, donkeys, and horses. It is very lively.
One day, the fat man Jela came to the pasture and announced loudly: Put an animal here and pay two pounds of ghee, because the pasture was left by my grandfather’s grandfather.
Now, the whole village has been miserable! Those who only had donkeys and sheep, but no cows, had to buy ghee to pay taxes.
Two months later, Jela walked proudly around the pasture with her big belly, counting the number of livestock and asking who else had not paid taxes. Suddenly, he saw Jiang La squatting on the ground, milking a female donkey.
“Jiang! Jiang! What are you doing?” Jiera asked.
“Tell me, sir, I don’t have a cow at home, so I have to beat donkey milk into butter to pay taxes!” Jiang La replied miserably.
“Oh my god! Aren’t you going to send me to Avici Hell?” The fat man was so shocked that he almost collapsed to the ground. Because of local customs, donkey meat is the dirtiest thing and donkey milk is the fishiest thing. People who eat donkey meat and drink donkey milk will go to hell.
“Master, I’m not the only one who uses donkey milk and ghee to pay taxes. There are many in the village!” Jiang La tried his best to defend himself.
“Oh my god!” The fat man touched his bare head with both hands, not knowing what to do.
“I’ll go to the warehouse and clear out the donkey milk ghee for you!” It was Jiang La who gave him an idea.
“Okay! Okay! Go quickly! Go quickly!” Yula shouted anxiously.
Jiang La ran into the rich man’s butter store, and while cleaning it, he chanted: “Donkey milk butter is yellow, throw it out! Milk butter is green, keep it.” He kept the moldy and green butter, and kept it fresh and yellow. The butter was thrown out of the window and distributed to the poor folks.
Jiang La cleared away the donkey milk ghee, and Fatty Jela became happy.

5. Receive alms
Jiang La drove a donkey, carrying two bags filled with sand and soil, and jingled past the tall building of the rich man Jela. Jela thought, “How could a guy who is so poor that he can’t keep a mouse in his house…” Then he stuck out his bare head from the window and asked, “Jiang! Jiang! What’s on the donkey?”
“Ghee is refined from the stone, and the unlucky person has good luck!” Jiang La reported happily: “A lama has come to the sacred mountain to give alms!”
“Is there any more?” The fat man’s heart was moved when he heard that there were some properties that he didn’t have to pay for. My hands are itchy!
“Yes! Yes! However,” Jiang La instructed: “When going up the mountain, you must walk on the sandy slope to show piety; when going down the mountain, you must walk on the grass slope to show politeness.”
“I know this!” The fat man was impatient. He was afraid that he would not receive the alms and wanted to fly up the mountain immediately.
“Master, don’t forget to bring the greeting gift!” The thin man Jiang La drove the donkey away and shouted loudly downstairs to remind him.
Then, he abandoned the donkey and ran up the mountain from the grass slope in one breath. Wearing a lama hat and an old cassock, he got into a dark cliff cave and waited for the fat man to pull. Jie La, as Jiang La said, climbed up the mountain from the sand slope, climbed up, slipped down, climbed up, and slipped down. I don’t know how long it took to climb to the top of the mountain out of breath. I saw a lama sitting upright in the dark cliff cave. He was happy.
Jela touched her forehead to the ground. He knelt down and worshiped three times, presented the leg of lamb and butter, and shouted loudly: “Lord Buddha, I am a pauper and a fat man. Please give me a hundred cows! Please give me a hundred grams of highland barley!”
“Okay, stretch out your hand!” the lama said in a majestic voice. Jela thought that her goal was achieved, and she was full of laughter. She quickly put her hand into the dark and narrow cliff cave.
Unexpectedly, the lama grabbed his hand tightly, pulled out a sharp knife, and placed it on his fat hand.
“Spare your life! Spare your life! Lord Buddha, please spare your life!” Fatty Jela screamed like a slaughtered pig.
“You are a rich man, not a poor man. You have three kilograms of highland barley upstairs and three hundred cattle and sheep downstairs. Why did you lie to me?” the lama asked sharply.
“I’m guilty! I’m guilty!” Jela kept begging for mercy.
“I’m going to cut off this hand and teach you a lesson, a guy like you who can’t quench your hunger by eating mountains and drinking from the sea without quenching your thirst!”
“Lord Buddha, have mercy on me! Lord Buddha, have mercy on me!” The fat man screamed again and banged his head on the cliff to express his determination to repent.
At this time, Jiang La let go of his hand. The fat man was angry and frightened. He walked down the grassy slope and stumbled many times.
As for Jiang La, he grabbed the butter and leg of mutton and walked back home along the sandy slope. After about two teas, Jela staggered back from the mountain.
“Master, have you received the alms?” Jiang La asked with concern.
“I got it! I got it! This lama is so kind-hearted!” The fat man didn’t want to be embarrassed in front of the poor man, so he started boasting.
“Hahaha!” Jiang La laughed.

6. Borrow a horse
Jiang La works as a servant for the rich Jie La!
One day, they came back from the city together. Jela was a fat man and a complete lazy person. She complained as she walked, and finally she lay on the roadside, refusing to move even for the life of her.
Jiang La looked forward and suddenly shouted happily: “Master, let’s go! There is my nephew in the village ahead. I will help you borrow a horse!”
Fatty Jie La quickly got up from the ground and hurriedly followed Jiang La into the village. They passed through two or three alleys and saw a tall and strong man weaving a pupun. Jiang La shouted loudly: “Good nephew, please lend me a horse!”
The man weaving Pulu didn’t know Jiang La at all, and when he heard that he was called his nephew, he was so angry that his whole body trembled. He pulled out the pad under his buttocks and chased them.
Jiang La quickly grabbed Yuela and shouted: “Master! Run! Run! My nephew is crazy. If he catches up, he will die!”
In order to save her life, Jie La held her head with both hands and followed Jiang La to run and run, and finally she ran back to her village.
Jie La gasped and complained: “Jiang, you said to borrow a horse! Borrow a horse! I didn’t borrow the horse, and I almost lost my life!” Jiang La said with a smile; “Sir, that big man’s seat is mine. It’s a borrowed horse! Without it, how could you come back so quickly?”

7. Treat guests with well water
The fat Jieela stood on the roof of the building and saw the new servant Jiang La, shouting at the well, sometimes raising his chest, sometimes bending down, sometimes high-fiving, sometimes shaking his fist, which made him confused.
Jie Lajia: “Hey! Jiang La! If you don’t go to the fighting field, why are you fighting with rams by the well?” After hearing this, Jiang La stopped arguing, walked to Jie La, and said angrily: “Sir, that well is too shameful. It’s talking bad about you.”
“What bad words?” The fat man became confused.
“It says that our master is a miser with long fingernails on his palms and an Italian with a thin neck and a big belly”! Catch a rabbit and want to milk it, and skin two sheep from it. We have been working in the Autumn Harvest field for two months, and the police officers have not even tasted meat as big as a magpie’s mouth! ”
“Oh my God!” The rich man was so angry that he almost jumped off the roof.
“That’s why I quarreled with that annoying well!” Jiang La explained: “I told it that our master has a good heart and cares about the poor people, but he is too busy these days and has no time. Make wine and kill sheep!”
“Yes! Yes!” The rich man praised repeatedly, feeling very comfortable.
“Huh! That boy from Shuijing doesn’t think so.” Jiang La then said angrily: “It said: Forget it! If fat Jie La is really not a miser, then ask him to treat you as a guest for three days, I’m Jing Shui Even if I can’t afford to invite three days of guests, I am willing to compensate him with a thousand gold coins!”
In order to get a thousand gold coins, the rich man killed the sheep and cooked wine, and treated the people to food and drink for three days. Three days later, there was no movement from the well. Jie La was so happy that she sent Jiang La to find a well to ask for a thousand gold coins.
Unexpectedly, as soon as Jiang La walked to the well, he started to make a big fuss and argued for the whole tea. In the end, he had to return to the rich man dejectedly, like a defeated rooster.
“What’s the matter?” asked the rich man.
“Alas! Shuijing refused to pay. It said: The food and drink for those three days were provided by Shuijing and the master together.” Jiang La replied.
“Bah! None of these butter, mutton, and highland barley wine were taken out from my warehouse!” The fat man got angry, and oil was pouring from his bald head.
“Yes,” Jiang La pretended to sympathize with the fat man: “But Shuijing said, even if the master produces meat, the well cannot make soup without it! Even if the master produces butter, can the well make butter tea without it? Even if the master produces highland barley, can the wells make wine without it?”
After hearing this, the fat man was so angry that he couldn’t say a word.

8. Chew bones
Fatty Jie La eats meat every day, but Jiang La can only chew bones. One day, Jiang La grabbed a big bone and chewed it with relish, making a “tsk tsk” sound in his mouth. The fat man asked: “What’s the matter?” Jiang La shook his head repeatedly and said: “What a pity, what a pity, the essence of meat is in the bones. The master does not eat the servants.”
When the fat man heard this, he felt that he was at a disadvantage again and wanted to taste the bones again. Jiang La broke open a bone and picked out the marrow and handed it to him. Jela ate it, and it was indeed very tasty. She said, “Jiang La is right, there is delicious food in the bones!” From then on, the bones were gnawed by the rich man.
Another day, the fat man was hungry and asked Jiang La to boil two eggs for snack. Jiang La was even hungrier. After cooking, he ate one egg, peeled off the other eggshell, put it on a plate, and gave it to the owner. The rich man asked: “Is there another one?” Jiang La said: “Master, I ate it.” The rich man was very angry and shouted: “You! You! How did you eat it?” Jiang La grabbed the eggs on the plate and threw them into the dish. He threw it in his mouth, made a “gudong” sound, and swallowed it. At the same time, he reported respectfully: “Master, this is how you eat!”
