It’s NOT Just a Headache!!

Most headaches are commonly not a sign of something serious. But in some cases, headaches may be life-threatening and will not go away with painkillers, particularly if they are chronic with more than 3 months of symptoms. In this case, it can pose a risk of serious diseases such as brain tumors.
Headaches vary in pain and are caused by several factors. An initial assumption of headaches may be made by the pain areas and side effects to help receive treatments in time and prevent serious health implications and death. Normal headaches can initially be treated with painkillers and, in most cases, will go away within 48 hours.
However, if the symptoms persist more than 2 days or are more severe with the symptoms including stiff neck, rash, vomiting, confusion, slurred speech, high fever of 38 degrees Celsius, partial paralysis or numbness, and blurred/double visions, you should see a doctor immediately to get thorough diagnosis and treatments.
A tension headache is the most common type caused by muscle contraction from chronic stress. It can cause pain that radiates to the back of the neck, trapezius, and shoulders. People with chronic severe headaches along with severe vomiting are at risk of developing a brain tumor. A migraine headache is characterized by tension on one side of the head or both with pain in the eye sockets. In women, it may be caused by changes in estrogen during menstruation.
A severe headache around the eye sockets with burning pain in the eyes, red and swollen eyes, runny nose, and swelling of the face on the same side with a series of pains at the same time every day and pain lasting from 15 minutes to 3 hours are the symptoms of cluster headache, which is caused by abnormalities of the trigeminal autonomic cephalalgias and the hypothalamus function (Hypothalamus).
As the headaches from sinusitis, the symptoms will include intense pain in the middle of the face, around both sides of the cheekbones, nose, forehead, and eye sockets. And finally, pain in the jaw line is the marker of jaw inflammation and headaches from unconscious bruxism or chewing food.
Most of the headaches are from stress. Cluster or jaw inflammation can be treated initially with painkillers. For patients with sinusitis, painkillers can be taken along with saline nasal irrigation in which sinusitis symptoms should subside and go away within 2-3 weeks.
