What is the relationship between Shennong and Emperor Yan?

A brief introduction to the story of Shennong tasting a hundred herbs: The story of Shennong’s whip medicine tasting a hundred herbs is a famous ancient Chinese myth and legend of the Han nationality.
Shennong was originally one of the three emperors. He was born in a cave in Lieshan. According to legend, he had a bull-headed body. Because of his special appearance, diligence and bravery, he was regarded as the leader of the tribe when he grew up. Because his tribe lived in the hot south, called the Yan clan, everyone called him Emperor Yan . Once he saw a bird holding a seed and invented grain agriculture. Because of these outstanding contributions, everyone called him Shennong.
Our ancients have used herbal medicine for generations. But how do people know that various herbs have different medicinal properties?
This is also due to our ancestor Shennong, who is not only a great agricultural god, but also a worthy and admirable god of medicine. In mythology, Shennong went up the mountain to collect herbs and tasted all kinds of herbs. In order to identify the medicinal properties, he was poisoned 70 times in one day, all of which were resolved by the liver, lungs, stomach, and stomach in his exquisite jade. He also has a divine whip called “ochre whip”, which he uses to whip various herbs.
These herbs were beaten with an ochre whip, poisonous and non-toxic, cold or warm, and various medicinal properties were naturally manifested. According to the medicinal properties of various herbs, Shennong treats people’s diseases and relieves people’s pain. Therefore, the story of “Shen Nong tastes a hundred herbs” has become a beautiful and moving story, which has been passed down for thousands of years.
But the unfortunate thing finally happened. Once, Shennong tasted a poisonous herb in the mountains, and his intestines were rotten one by one. This great god of medicine gave his life to relieve the suffering of the people. Naturally, the people will not forget his great kindness and great virtue , and they will commemorate him from generation to generation.
Legend has it that there is a Shenfugang near Taiyuan, Shanxi Province, where the tripod used by Shennong to taste medicine is also stored there. It is also said that in the mountains of Xianyang, you can also see the place where Shennong’s whip medicine was used, and that place is called “Shennongyuan” or “Herbal Mountain”.
This myth story is compiled according to relevant materials in ancient books. “Huainanzi Xiuwu Xun” says: “Shen Nong tasted the taste of all kinds of herbs, and he encountered seventy poisons in one day.” Jin Ganbao’s “Sou Shen Ji” said in the first volume: “Shen Nong used ochre to whip all kinds of herbs, and he knew all about it. The nature of calming the poison, cold and warm…” Liang Renfang’s “Shu Yi Ji” scrolled down and said: “In Taiyuan Shenfugang, there is a tripod that Shennong tasted medicine. In the Xianyang Mountains, there is Shennong’s whip medicine.” With these epic deeds, Shennong became the ancestor of medicine and was loved by the people.
In order to commemorate his kindness and merits, people worship him as the God of Medicine King, and build the Temple of Medicine King to worship at four seasons. In my country, it is said that the border of Sichuan, Hubei and Shaanxi is the place where Shennong tasted all kinds of herbs, which is called Shennongjia Mountain Area.
