The Mountain T-shirts are made in the USA. Based in Keene, NH. All of their t-shirts are made with 100% cotton – even the thread that they’re sewn with is cotton. This is one of the fashion favorite brands in the U.S.A. (The Mountain T-Shirts: Clothing, Shoes & Jewelry). Since its founding in 1981, the company has created, dyed, and printed all garments in the USA using sustainable practices.

In 1972
HUMBLE ROOTS, Two lifelong friends from New Jersey with nothing more than the American dream, set out to turn that dream into reality.
After moving to New Hampshire, the duo began making belts and buckles to peddle at fairs and festivals. Their success led them to open their first retail store in 1972. Their most popular item was a belt adorned with a mountain scene. This became the inspiration behind the brand name.
Before long, The Mountain owned and operated 30 retail locations throughout the Mid-Atlantic states where they sold their own hand-dyed and printed tees alongside dozens of other alternative culture products.
In 1976
To A Tee – Two dreamers met up with two other like-minded artists who were taking their own stab at the American dream selling t-shirts. Together they built a print shop and The Mountain brand was born.
The Mountain began to focus on producing and distributing their own line of wildly popular t-shirts, and was officially licensed to print tees featuring The Grateful Dead, Bob Marley and Jimi Hendrix.
In 1991
A Change Of Pace – In 1996 The Mountain sold its retail stores to focus exclusively on printing high quality artwear.
In 2008
Bold-Faced Designs – The world had fully embraced The Mountain’s unique design style and a new generation of fans was born. In the wake of Three Wolf Moon, The Mountain created a new line of hyper-realistic Big Face animal tees that would go to become their best-selling shirts of all time.
A Star Is Born – In the wake of the near collapse of the U.S. economy in 2008, The Mountain was struggling. But then, something magical happened… a college student wrote a satirical review of one of their tees on Amazon. The review erupted through cyberspace and Three Wolf Moon made headlines on major news networks worldwide.

The story of The Mountain truly is a tale of rags to riches. With hard work, a great team and a bit of luck, The Mountain brand has become truly iconic. And the story continues… The Mountain is moving forward and breaking new ground in the world of fashion and design.
