Yasaka Shrine in Kyoto, Japan

Yasaka shrine is famous for Gion Festival which is one of the Japan’s top three festival. Local people call it as “Gion-san”. It was established in Heian period to get rid of epidemic diseases at that time. This shrine is more commonly known as “Gion Shrine” is located between Gion area and Higashiyama area of Kyoto city. It is another old shrine that is very famous in Kyoto. Since this shrine was built about 1,350 years ago, the buildings have a traditional Japanese architectural style. Especially the area around the building will be decorated with hundreds of lamps hanging clearly. Even in the evening until the evening, the lanterns will be opened, making it especially beautiful.
