Tōfuku-ji is a Buddhist temple in Higashiyama-ku in Kyoto, Japan. Tōfuku-ji takes its name from two temples in Nara, Tōdai-ji and Kōfuku-ji. It is one of the Kyoto Gozan or “five great Zen temples of Kyoto”. Its honorary sangō prefix is Enichi-san. Wikipedia

Tofukuji Temple, located in Southern Kyoto, is a large Zen temple that is very famous for being one of the most beautiful spots for viewing the autumn leaves in Kia. Wow. How to get there:

  • From Kyoto Station, take the JR Nara Line or Keihan Main Line to Tofukuji Station. It takes 2 minutes and costs 140 yen, then walk 10 minutes.
  • From Kyoto Station, take Kyoto City Bus 208, get off at Tofukuji bus stop, 15 minutes, 8JK.
