They only know that the false happiness in front of them has blinded their hearts by foolishness. They should think of the sorrow of old age and death, like a sharp sword on their necks, and should seek rescue without delay.

Why do people in the world seem to be sleeping, seeing other people’s old age, sickness and death, but still not knowing that their own old age, sickness and death are coming too. What is the difference between them and earth, wood and stone? It was as if there were two big trees growing in the wilderness with green branches and lush leaves. One of them had been cut down, but the second one did not know the horror yet. Ah! What poor people

“No matter how carefully I think about it, there are countless toiling sentient beings in our world, and they are suffering a lot both materially and mentally. Coupled with all kinds of political and religious oppression, alas! They are in so much pain, how can I not try to save them? What leisure do I have to enjoy those unreal, short-lived, vulgar and selfish happiness? 』

The prince’s sighs were heard by Udaya who was standing far away. He thought of the task assigned to him by King Suddhodana. He immediately stepped forward respectfully and said to the prince:

“Prince!” I have obeyed the imperial edict of your Majesty to be a good friend of yours, and I will now say a few words to you as your good friend. Prince! There are three conditions for being called a friend. The first is not to do things that are not beneficial to your friends.

The second is to do things that are beneficial to your friends. The third is to share joys and sorrows with your friends. No matter how difficult or difficult things are, never abandon your friends. Prince! Since I am your good friend now, of course I should do my best to be a friend. I cannot express my true feelings now, so I can only sincerely ask you to listen to my words.

“Prince!” In youth, the most important thing is to have love with the opposite sex. If a man does not understand female love, it is really a great shame. Prince! The greatest joy in the world, nothing can surpass the love of a woman.

Now, even if loving women is against your wishes, for the sake of your current status and your nobler reputation, you should do it conveniently and obediently. If you can approach a woman conveniently and submissively, it will definitely increase your happiness. Convenience and obedience are the fundamental ways to behave in this world. If someone wants to deny these joys, it is like the tree is full of flowers but has no fruits. What is the meaning and interest of this life?

It is really difficult for people to possess a woman’s love. Therefore, in the human world, it is really not easy to get a woman’s entertainment. This requires a lot of merit accumulated in the previous life, and only then can you feel such rewards in this life. When it comes to women’s love, this is the object that everyone in the world strives for, and it is really unreasonable for you to give up love now! Prince! I hope you don’t lose these rare treasures! 』

Udaya’s remarks really spoke of the principles of human relations in the world. After hearing what he said, the prince said solemnly and kindly:

“Udayi!” Thank you! You said you are my friend. If you are sincere, I fully understand. However, as a result of my repeated thinking, I have my own opinion in my heart. Please listen to me carefully:

“You said that love is the greatest happiness in life, but Udayi! Do you know that my depression is precisely because life is impermanent? Do you know that the uneasiness in my heart is because all suffering sentient beings are still unable to seek liberation? I don’t have to deny for you the pleasure of female sex you mentioned. However, if among these pleasures there is no pain of aging, sickness and death, and they are not impermanent and temporary but eternal, I would be willing to pursue this kind of pleasure. Be happy without seeking to be bored.

“As for those court ladies who wear perfume and wear beautiful clothes, if they don’t age, their lust may be a fault, but they are still justified in human relations.” It’s as if they are still approaching aging and death step by step!

“To be honest, aging, sickness and death accumulate in the human world. If they can understand this truth themselves, they still have to be disgusted and fearful of themselves. How can they have love for other people’s aging, sickness, suffering, and death-stricken bodies? ? On the other hand, what is the difference between ignorant people and ignorant beasts who only care about their own health, forget the horror of death, and indulge in the realm of the five desires all day long in pursuit of the joy of love? Udayi! The immortals you just cited did not know the disgustingness and danger of the five desires, so they were washed away by the torrent of the five desires. The five desires are really the source of body destruction!

“For example, those strong young men and young girls, if they are obsessed with the realm of the five desires and do not understand the body that is about to age and die, they think they are the winners, but, Udayi! After all, old age, sickness, death and impermanence are the winners!

“If it is expedient to obey a woman’s love and accept the happiness of the five desires, this is called attachment, not expedient.” Obedience and Xi Jinping are all hypocrisy and deception. I definitely don’t want to do this!

As for anything in the world, if you are too enthusiastic about him, you will become attached to him. If you are too attached, it will have the consequences of going too far and not doing enough. Now you want me to accept those pleasures that I don’t like, and you want me to obey them conveniently. Isn’t this a great hypocrisy? Going against my heart to engage in the love of women, and saying that this is the “fundamental truth of the world”, I really don’t understand such truth and insights!

“The world is a great sea of ​​suffering from old age, sickness and death, a place where all sufferings accumulate. If someone wants me to fall into it, this is definitely not the advice given to me by my good friends!” well! Udayi! The great dangers of birth, old age, sickness and death are truly terrifying! You see, everything is changing. We are heading towards the grave day by day. Who still has the heart to pursue temporary love and happiness?

The prince used all kinds of conveniences to tell Udayi that the five desires are disgusting. Hearing this, Udayi, the minister who only loved looking for flowers and flowers, lowered his head in shame.

The prince and Udayi had a long conversation, and it was almost dusk before they knew it. The sun was gradually setting towards the western mountains, and the birds were also busy looking for their return home. These many palace maids and sweet musical instruments finally disappeared. They had no choice but to return to the city with their instruments in shame.

When people go to the garden to be quiet, there are quiet woods, quiet flowers and plants, quiet distant mountains, and quiet pools. The prince wanders alone in the garden quietly for a while, and then sits under the floating tree and meditates on the universe and the world. After all the problems in life, he returned to the palace in the city alone.

Udaya told King Suddhodana truthfully about today’s situation. After hearing this, King Suddhodana knew that the prince was determined not to be tainted by the five desires and to recognize the impermanence of the world. Great sorrow and sorrow arose in his heart, like a sharp knife piercing him. His heart felt extremely sad! He immediately convened an emergency meeting of ministers to discuss the plan and what method should be used to make the prince change his world-weary heart?
