Tashichho Dzong Monastery in Thimphu, Bhutan

To visit Bhutan, this is place that must see when you travel to Bhutan. This place is beautiful Bhutanese architecture that looks like the Grand Palace on the river on the foothills. This is also government office building. This building is administrative committee consisting and high-ranking government officials. Also the place is multipurpose courtyard for organize with important religious activities. The central tower is a three-story tower in the middle and is place where important ceremonies with resting places for monks, worship rooms, enshrined important Buddha statue..

Tashichho Dzong Monastery or བཀྲ་ཤིས་ཆོས་རྫོང or ทาชิโชซอง (ทิมพูซอง) has a long background back to the 13th century but the original fort was not located on the plains. It is divided into secular monastic areas with multipurpose yard and used for the show with important festivals. In 1216, Lama Gaelanang Pa, the founder of the Hapa office, separated from the Dikung Kayupa sect. One up in the Thimphu Valley area, named Don Khon, meaning blue stone fort. Because it is located on a hill on the northeast side of the current fort until today still see the white building which became the monastic school of Densen temple.

In 1630, Subang Numel came to take possession of this building and named the new Tashichho Dzong which is meaning as the great religious fortress. Later been fire and was abandoned for a long time. Until His Highness King Jigmee Daji Wangchuk ascended the throne and moved the capital to Thimphu ordered to restore the new construction by keeping the church and the central tower in original. Today Tashichho Dzong Monastery is a symbol of Thimphu and Bhutan. Tashichho Dzong was once of the meeting on the National Council.
