Kill Me Love Me (2024) 春花焰 Episode 4 Recap

Episode 4: Meilin is rescued after cooperating with King Jing

Now that Meilin is in prison, the people of Dayan are talking about Xiyan’s evil intentions, which once again endangers the diplomatic relations between the two countries. Yue Qin is worried about Meilin’s safety, so he immediately takes his attendant Shu Mo to the palace to ask for an audience with the emperor.

He stays outside the door for a whole night until Eunuch Liu Zhong conveys the emperor’s will on his behalf, saying that the assassination has nothing to do with Xiyan, but Meilin’s crime is unforgivable.

Because of this, Yue Qin personally sent the lantern fruit cake to the imperial prison in the name of Princess Zi Gu, planning to take a risk and use the fake death drug to rescue Mei Lin from prison.

However, Zhang Yin saw Yue Qin sending a food box to Mei Lin, and he came up with a plan to use Yue Qin’s food box to poison Mei Lin.

On the other side, Murong Jinghe was enjoying the flowers and drinking alone, his mind full of the scene of Meilin’s desperate survival, and he mocked her in his heart for overestimating her own abilities. The former queen’s maid thought Murong Jinghe liked these small wildflowers, so she casually mentioned that wildflowers are cheap and strong, and there is a common name called “immortal”.

Murong Jinghe felt that Meilin’s death chess game had no solution, and only dead people would leave a handle.

Later, someone pretended to be a jailer and sent Meilin a lantern fruit cake mixed with poison. Meilin noticed something was wrong and started fighting with the other person. Fortunately, at the critical moment, Murong Jinghe came to the prison with Qingyan.

Meilin said frankly that Murong Jinghe was not the real murderer and would rather admit the crime of massacre, even if he was despised by the world, and was unwilling to explain.

The person who set Qingzhou on fire was not the real Weibei Army, and the real Weibei Army would point the knife towards her even when facing the siege of the people. She saw it clearly on the day she entered the city.

Therefore, Meilin hoped to cooperate with Murong Jinghe. As long as she could leave the prison, she would find other ways on her own. Her biggest bargaining chip was the fake Weibei Army token carried by the arsonist.

Originally, Yue Qin came to the prison with a food box and happened to see Murong Jinghe coming out of the prison. She took this opportunity to test Murong Jinghe’s attitude.

The next day, Zhang Yin took the initiative to find Murong Xuanlie, believing that King Jing planned the assassination in the hall in order to lure out the Mo Vein assassins and use this to reopen the old case in Qingzhou.

Murong Xuanlie thought that the matter was too big, and the only way now was for him to kill all the Mo Vein assassins and save his life, otherwise he would give others a handle.

Murong Jinghe went to the palace to meet the emperor and told Emperor Yan about Meilin’s identity, hoping that Emperor Yan would spare Meilin for the sake of the overall situation.

He said that Meilin had approached him countless times, but chose to take action at the marriage banquet, which clearly showed that there was a conspiracy behind it.

Therefore, in Murong Jinghe’s opinion, someone wanted to use the hatred of Qingzhou to stir up trouble. No matter whether Meilin was an orphan of Qingzhou or Xiyan, Meilin must not be killed. He suggested that the public be informed that Meilin’s assassination was due to hatred between men and women, and he was willing to bear the reputation of being absurd and lustful.

As soon as he finished speaking, Princess Zi Gu came to plead for Mei Lin, saying that Mei Lin was bullied by Murong Jinghe before, and Murong Jinghe knelt down on the spot to admit his mistake. Emperor Yan had no choice but to agree, but still wanted Mei Lin to be whipped in public outside the hall.

To prevent Murong Xuanlie from doing anything, Murong Jinghe personally held the whip, even at the cost of damaging his own heart meridian, and forced himself to use his internal energy to release the force, and then carried the wounded Mei Lin back.

After this incident, the two of them cleared up their grudges. Meilin told Murong Jinghe that the fake token of the Weibei Army was buried under the tree of Honglu Temple, and the revenge of Qingzhou should be avenged by the people of Qingzhou.

Murong Jinghe knew that Meilin was about to be poisoned, so he secretly decided to get red poria for him to detoxify the black veins. On the other hand, Yue Qin could not forget the old kindness, so he went to visit Meilin in person and persuaded her to live well and not bear too much hatred.

On the other hand, Murong Xuanlie reprimanded Zhang Yin, believing that Meilin was Murong Jinghe’s pawn, and ordered him to kill the Mo Cultivation warriors hiding in Wenhua Pavilion. Although Zhang Yin was somewhat reluctant, he had no choice but to agree.

Not long after Zhang Yin left, Murong Xuanlie saw the bird that reported the news and learned that the first female general of Dayan, Yin Luomei, had been replaced and returned to Beijing, and he was overjoyed.
