According to records, in ancient times, he was a Dharma monk in the time of King Buddha of World Freedom. He was educated by King Buddha of World Freedom. He made a vow, thus fulfilling his wish to become a Buddha and becoming Amitabha Buddha. He is still teaching the scriptures in the Western Pure Land of Amitabha. It is said that those who encounter his great kindness can avoid all suffering.

The classics that recorded the story of Amitabha were translated as early as the Eastern Han Dynasty. During the Six Dynasties, the idea of ​​rebirth in the Pure Land was based on the belief in Amitabha. And gradually formed the later Pure Land Buddhism. With the popularity of Pure Land Buddhism in China, Amitabha became a popular Buddha.

Amitabha Buddha is the leader of the Western Pure Land world. He vows to transcend all sentient beings with his endless vows. He does not give up his sorrowful vows. He illuminates the loneliness with boundless light. , enjoy all the well-being.

Amitabha represents boundless light, can guard you silently, gain wisdom from heaven, get rid of troubles, be tireless, and create a happy life with society and family.

People born in the Dog Year of the Pig have strong sensitivity to Amitabha Buddha. Therefore, if people born in the Year of the Dog and the Pig year can devoutly wear or worship the Buddha Dharma image of Amitabha Buddha, their life will be smooth and auspicious.

Amitabha’s birthday

The seventeenth day of the eleventh month of the lunar calendar (actually it is the birthday of Master Yongming Yanshou, because Master Yongming Yanshou is considered to be the return of Amitabha, so it is regarded as the birthday of Amitabha.)

On the anniversary of the Bodhisattva, you can pray for blessings, offer incense at home or go to the temple to offer incense. Usually, you can recite the name of the Bodhisattva and the mantra.

It should be reminded that in Buddhist festivals, except for the birth, enlightenment, and nirvana of Sakyamuni Buddha, which are historical facts, the rest, such as Manjushri, Avalokitesvara, Maitreya, etc., whose Christmas is all for the bodhisattva. Living in the world, or the great virtue of the patriarch, does not come from the Buddhist scriptures. Buddhist disciples should understand that this is the Dharma, which is convenient for receiving and guiding sentient beings to enter the right view of the Buddha.

Amitabha Dojo

If you usually recite “Amitabha Buddha”, any place is the dojo of Amitabha Buddha.

According to legend, the dojo is the place where Buddhas or Bodhisattvas should become enlightened or preach when they should incarnate. Buddha worship is not limited to dojos, no matter what monastery, or whenever and wherever, you can silently recite the names of Buddhas or Bodhisattvas and pray sincerely.
