Introduce

Tingfeng Garden is a classical garden building built in the Qing Dynasty. Located at No. 12 Qingyuanfang next to Jintaishi Lane in Suzhou, it was listed as a cultural relics protection unit in Suzhou in 1982. During the reign of Emperor Guangxu of Tongzhi in the Qing Dynasty, Wu Yun, a native of Huzhou, who was the prefect of Suzhou, built a house here. Because of the ancient maples in the garden, it was named “Tingfeng Garden”.

Tingfeng Garden is located in the northeast of the residence, covering an area of ​​1,200 square meters. The main hall “Tingfengxian Pavilion” (now renamed “Tingfengshan Pavilion”) is located in the center of the garden, with a courtyard in the north and south. The South Courtyard has lush flowers and trees, and various rocks and rocks. In the north courtyard, there is a clear pond, and a half pavilion and forest ponds reflect the flowers and trees. The east of the hall used to be Wu Yun’s study “Ping Zhai”. There are mountains in front of it, and there is the “Moxiang Pavilion” along the pedal road. Zhai and Pavilion are self-contained courtyards, which are the essence of the whole garden.

Moxiang Pavilion

The garden is centered on “Ting Fengshan Pavilion”, connected to “Taste House” and “Liang Nie Xuan” in the west, and “Ping Zhai” in the east, dividing the garden into two halves, north and south. In the southeast of “Listening to Fengshan Pavilion”, there are stacked stones as a mountain, and “Moxiang Pavilion” is built on it, which is separated by walls to form a “Moxiang Pavilion” on the mountain.

Independent courtyard

An independent courtyard opposite the “Hiraizai” at the foot of the mountain. The north-south buildings are opposite each other, and the conception is peculiar. Most of the courtyard in front of “Listen to Fengshan Pavilion” is paved with Huajie, and there are small pavilions around the veranda for “waiting for frost” and “settling”.

The water goes down around the rockery and flows according to the rockery, and the mountains and rivers accompany each other for fun. Since there is no source of running water, the water in the garden is not clear, but colorful goldfish roam freely, adding a lot of interest.
