The country establishes diplomatic relations with the Syrian Arab Republic

Syria is one of the birthplaces of the world’s ancient civilizations, and has experienced the rule of the Roman Empire, the Arab Empire and the Ottoman Empire. So what is Syria like? How can it achieve diplomatic relations with China?
Syria is located in the western part of the Asian continent, on the eastern coast of the Mediterranean Sea. The area is 185,000 square kilometers (including the Golan Heights). Population 18 million (2002). Among them, Arabs account for more than 80%, as well as Kurds, Armenians, Turkmens and Circassians. Arabic is the national language, general English and French.
85% of the residents believe in Islam, and 14% believe in Christianity. Among them, Sunni Islam accounts for 80% (about 68% of the country’s population), Shiites account for 20%, and Alawites account for 75% of Shiites (about 11.5% of the country’s population). Capital: Damascus.
Syria has a history of more than 4,000 years. Primitive city-states existed in 3000 BC. Conquered by the Assyrian Empire in the 8th century BC. In 333 BC, the Macedonian army invaded Syria. Occupied by the Romans in 64 BC. It was incorporated into the territory of the Arab Empire at the end of the 7th century. 11th century European Crusaders.
From the end of the 13th century, it was ruled by the Mamluk dynasty of Egypt. It was annexed by the Ottoman Empire for 400 years from the beginning of the 16th century. In April 1920, it became a French mandate. At the beginning of World War II, the British and French “Free French Army” entered Syria together. On September 27, 1941, General Jadrew, commander-in-chief of the “Free French Army”, declared Syria’s independence in the name of the Allies.
In August 1943, Syria established its own government. In April 1946, the French and British troops were forced to withdraw, and Syria achieved full independence and established the Syrian Arab Republic.
On February 1, 1958, Syria and Egypt merged into the United Arab Republic. On September 28, 1961, Syria seceded from the United Arab Emirates and re-established the Syrian Arab Republic. On August 1, 1956, China and the Syrian Arab Republic established diplomatic relations.
Although Syria is often plagued by wars today, I believe that the future of Syria will definitely be the same as Syria’s past. No matter how much wind and rain it experiences, it will still be able to achieve the republic that everyone expects.
