It is a third-class royal monastery, common type, and is the 7th royal monastery in Chiang Mai that reflects the uniqueness of Lanna architecture very well. The atmosphere is shady and quiet. History of Wat Pa Dara Phirom
Formerly, the area of Wat Pa Dara Phirom used to be an abandoned cemetery located close to Suan Chao Sabai in the area of Dara Phirom Palace of Prince Dara Rasmee . Phrakhru Winaithornman Phuritthatto, commonly known as Luang Pu Man Phuritthatto, came to stay and make meditation at this cemetery. Because it is a quiet place suitable for meditation Later, more monks came to practice meditation. When the villagers saw it, they gained faith. Let’s work together to build a temple known as Wat Pa Vivek Chittaram or Wat Pa Rae Rai dedicated to use in monastic affairs.
Later in the year 1941, Chao Lada Kham Na Chiang Mai , the heir of Chao Dararasmi was consecrated the land in the royal palace area of Chao Dararasmi to this temple and changed its name to Wat Pa Daraphirom Until now.
Architecture of Wat Pa Dara Phirom
The area of Wat Pa Da Phirom is divided into 4 parts, namely Phutthawat, Sangkhawat, Suan Pa and Chee-Brahmin.
