Psychology comes from a term in English that psychology, which has its roots in two Greek words:1.Psychemeansspiritand2.Logosmeanssubjects, education. When combining these two words, they become words. that psychology means Psychology is the study of the soul or the mind. The term “psychology”, Dictionary, 1999, defines it as “psychology [chitta-], the subject of the mind, a branch of science on behavioral phenomena and processes of the mind.” There are also scholars who have given many definitions of psychology, which can be concluded that
“Psychology is the subject of studying the human mind. It is a course that teaches an understanding of human actions such as human concepts. The desires of mankind, the motives that cause a man to act, memory, and complex feelings.” Modern psychology just started in the 19th century, with psychologists in this era discarding traditional methods of education. Then turn to experimental methods and systematic studies using scientific processes. Wilhelm Max Wundt was the first psychologist to open the world’s first psychology laboratory in the year. 1879 at the University of Leipzig (Leipzig), Germany. therefore he was regarded as the Father of Modern Psychology and psychology was separated from philosophy and was incorporated as part of the Science subject that studies human and animal behavior since then
