Shinto Religion

7. There are many sects, but they can be divided into two types.

1) Gakaka Shinto, a Shinto that belongs to the state or the government.

During the reign of Emperor Mayi, there were 5 royal decrees.

1. to perform the duties of a soldier

to be loyal to the throne of heaven
must have courage
must die for the throne of heaven
Must obey the superiors in order

2) Ryoha Shinto : Shinto belonging to the general population which is divided into many sects (about 13 sects).

8. The doctrine focuses on worshiping various gods. ancestral

9. It is related to Buddhism and Confucianism.

10. At present, some sects of the people have prophets such as

– Gonko sect

– Tenrijo (Nagayama)

*Official Shinto religion

– There are about 110,500 shrines.

– There are about 15,800 monks to maintain.

-Most of them are funded by the state

– When the bureaucratic sect was abolished by General MacArthur (1945), the budget was also cut.

– Nationalism (Bushido, Harakiri)

– Every Japanese is the son of the sun god.
