Fireworks Display at Kanmon Strait – A Dazzling Spectacle of 15,000 Fireworks!
The Fireworks Display at Kanmon Strait is held on August 13 each year over the Kanmon Straits, which flow between the Moji Retro District in Kitakyushu, Fukuoka, and Shimonoseki in Yamaguchi Prefecture.
Around 15,000 fireworks will be launched from both sides of the strait, backed by stunning night scenery and the iconic Kanmon Bridge.
Last year’s Moji Retro District display presented a stirring lineup of fireworks synchronized to music, barrages of large circular fireworks, and more. The shoreline viewing area near Mojiko Station requires a paid ticket to enter, which can be purchased at a convenience store. However, you can also get a good view from any lookout over the Kanmon Straits, like the Mekari Park observation platform.
