Simplified Chinese Sentence Part 1

1. “Have you eaten?” or “How’s it going?” or “How are you?”
Pinyin (Read): Nǐ chīfàn le ma?
Chinese words: 你吃饭了吗?

2. “Eat some more.” or “Have some more.”
Pinyin (Read): Nǐ duō chī yīdiǎn.
Chinese words: 你多吃一点

3. “Eat slowly.” or “Bon appétit” or “enjoy your meal” (American English).
Pinyin (Read): Màn man chī.
Chinese words: 慢慢吃。

4. “Walk slowly.” or “Take care” or “Have a good day” (American English).
Pinyin (Read): Màn zǒu.
Chinese words: 慢走

5. “Come slowly.” or “Take it easy”, “Take your time” or “Easy does it”.
Pinyin (Read): Màn màn lái.
Chinese words: 慢慢来

6. “I speak to you.” or  “Look, …” or “Listen, …”
Pinyin (Read): Wǒ gēn nǐ jiǎng.

Pinyin (Read): Wǒ xiān zǒu le.
Chinese words: 我先走了。

8. “Please [let me] ask.” or “Excuse me.”
Pinyin (Read): Qǐng wèn yīxià.
Chinese words: 请问一下。

9. “Don’t see me out.” or “You don’t need to see me out.” or “No need to walk me out.”
Pinyin (Read): Bié sòng le. or Similar phrase in Chinese: 请回 qǐnghuí (“Please return.”) and 请留步 Qǐng liúbù (“Please stop here.”)
Chinese words: 别送了。

10.  “I drink to you” or just “Cheers”.
Pinyin (Read): Wǒ jìng nǐ yī bēi.
Chinese words: 我敬你一杯。
Note:  敬 jìng here symbolises respect given to the second party.

11. “I will consider [it].” or “I’ll think about it.”
Pinyin (Read): Wǒ huì kǎolǜ yīxià de.
Chinese words: 我会考虑一下的。

12. “You go do what you are busy with.” or “Please carry on with what you’re doing.”
Pinyin (Read): Nǐ qù máng nǐ de ba.
Chinese words: 你去忙你的吧。

13. “I’m not criticising you.” or “I’m not criticising you.” or “I’m not having a go at you.” (Aussie English) or “No offense.”
Pinyin (Read): Wǒ bù shì shuō nǐ.
Chinese words: 我不是说你。
Note: Similar phrase in Chinese: 我不怪你 Wǒ bù guài nǐ (“I’m not blaming you.”)

14. As for?
Pinyin (Read): Zhìyú ma?
Chinese words: 至于吗?
Note: Near-equivalent phrase in English: “Is that really the case?” or “Has it come to that?” (depending on situation)

15. “You scared me to death.” or “You scared the crap outta me” or “You freaked me out” or “You made me concerned” (depending on situation.)
Pinyin (Read): Nǐ xià sǐ wǒ le.
Chinese words: 你吓死我了。
