Synopsis:
Yan Shuren falls in love with Sun Shu in medical school but their families encounter unfortunate events, forcing Shuren to drop out, while Sun Shu decides to study abroad in Japan. Eight years later, their teacher refers both of them to work at the same hospital, allowing Shuren to slowly win back Sun Shu, but she only softens as her mother undergoes medical treatments and he remains at her side. Chen Yifan develops feelings for Sun Shu, but she discovers that she only loves Shuren, and rejects his confessions. Yan Shuren later discovers that his mother died eight years ago because of a car accident and is thrown into self-blame, doubting his career achievements, only recovering with the help of Sun Shu.
