The founder of Porsche, Ferdinand Porsche (also translated as Ferdinand Borscher), had invented the electric wheel motor at the age of 24 (1899). At the Paris International Exhibition the following year, Porsche was already well-known all over the world. . Porsche cars have distinctive features, Beetle-like shape, rear-mounted engine and excellent performance, it quickly became a well-known car.

At the Frankfurt International Motor Show in 1963, the Porsche 911 was shown, and this design still has a wide market today. Its body designer was Ferry, the eldest son of Porsche, Ferdinand Alexander Porsche, Porsche Type 928 with rear gearbox chassis and V8 engine, Type 959 with new technology, and all-wheel drive with electronic adjustment and no The lift-bodied 911 Carrera 4 is the most important development of recent years.

Few brands can sell luxury like necessities like Porsche. In the advertisement of the new car Porsche 911, there is such an advertisement: “In an era full of superfluous and superficial, in an era full of frivolity and roughness, only the Porsche 911 is a real necessity and there is no substitute.

The history of Porsche can be traced back to 1900, when the first car bearing the Porsche name, the Lohner-Porsche, officially debuted and caused a sensation. This two-seater sports car was designed by Ferdinand Porsche (Ferdinand Porsche, hereinafter referred to as the big Porsche), who was only 25 years old at the time and was hired by the Lohner car factory as a designer. Here he has shown great talent.

Porsche was born in Austria in 1875, his father was a tinsmith. Ferdinand liked to work as a tinsmith since he was a child, and was also interested in electricians. In 1890, he began to work on the development of electric Guomei gasoline electric vehicles.

In 1906, the big Porsche was transferred to the Austrian branch of the Daimler car factory as technical director. In the following ten years, he designed a number of epoch-making new cars, such as the SS and SSK sports cars of Daimler-Benz and the Grand Prix Car of the United Autos All are brilliant chapters. In 1923, he was promoted to chief engineer of Daimler General Plant. Daimler and Benz merged in 1926 to form what is now Mercedes-Benz.

During this period, the big Porsche proposed to Mercedes-Benz to produce a production sedan that the public could afford, but it was rejected by the board of directors at the time. This makes the big Porsche have to hang the crown and go. On March 6, 1931, with the help of several investors, the big Porsche established a design company in Stuttgart, specializing in the development of engines for automobiles, aircraft and ships.

Ferry Porsche also joined the design team at the age of 24. After that, father and son began to work on the development plan of “Volkswagen”. Little is known that the wishes of the Porsche father and son coincided with the infamous Hitler at the time. Hitler also specially summoned the big Porsche to discuss the matter. During World War II, he also designed the Tiger tank for Hitler, which was Megatron in Europe.

Because of his relationship with Nazi Germany, after World War II, he was arrested by the Americans and later handed over to France, where he served two years in prison and was released in August 1947.

Four years later, in 1935, the prototype was born, and it was the “Beetle” of the Volkswagen factory. It has been in continuous production for more than 50 years and is the most produced car in the world. In the 1930s, the big Porsche also designed 3 high-performance racing cars for the predecessor of the Audi factory, which are also considered to be the predecessors of Porsche sports cars.

Son inherits father’s business

In 1946, after the end of World War II, Porsche’s design company moved to Austria, and little Porsche and his sister Louise Piech also officially joined the management lineup. Louise has become the daughter-in-law of the Piëch family, and the two families have been closely linked ever since.

With the help of a pair of sons and daughters, the big Porsche started the research and development of Porsche cars based on the “Beetle”. Since both father and son have an indescribable enthusiasm for performance, the first Porsche car developed by themselves is naturally a car.

A sports car known for its performance, this is the Porsche 356 which was launched in 1948. Like the Porsche sports cars that were introduced in the future, the 356 has a lightweight body, low drag coefficient, flexible handling performance and an air-cooled engine. These features make it unique. The big Porsche died in 1951 after fulfilling his dream of building his own sports car.

Carry forward

After the death of his father, the young Porsche took up the responsibility of running the business. In 1963, the most important model in Porsche history, the 911, was presented at the Frankfurt Motor Show.

In order to maintain and improve the quality of Porsche, Porsche built a modern research and development center and a large test site in Weissach near the main factory in 1971.

Although Porsche’s quality is obvious to all, in the mid-1980s, it suffered the worst operating crisis in the plant’s history, with car production plummeting by half, and then after slashing prices and laying off a third of the workforce to stabilize its position.

It wasn’t until the Boxster concept car was unveiled in 1993 that Porsche’s survival came to light. After the convertible sports car was launched in 1996, it caused a rush to buy it all over the world. The legacy of the big Porsche: to launch a high-quality, low-priced popular sports car, finally realized more than 40 years after his death. In 1998, Porsche took advantage of the victory and released the new 911 Convertible at the Geneva Motor Show.

Although the Porsche factory is currently run by professional managers, the Porsche family still owns a majority stake in the factory. According to statistics, the total assets of the family are as high as 5 billion marks.
