The Deer and the Cauldron 鹿鼎记2020 Episode 7 Recap

After Wei Xiaobao finished eating the roasted crow made by Liu Yan, he suddenly felt unbearable abdominal pain. He hurried to the latrine for convenience. He accidentally heard a samurai and a guard bargaining prices. Wei Xiaobao was so scared that he hurriedly hid and waited for the two to leave. When he came out, he saw from the window that the samurai killed the guard and snatched the box in his hand. The samurai hid the box in the big tree cave and swaggered back to the banquet. Wei Xiaobao followed him and took the box away.

The Queen Mother ordered Liu Yan to kill Wei Xiaobao, and Liu Yan led the way. Wei Xiaobao looked back at his residence and looked at Mu Jianping. He suddenly heard the sound of killing outside. A group of masked men in black and the guards in the palace were inextricably beaten. He didn’t want to spit out the candle in the room. One of the masked men was injured and ran into Wei Xiaobao’s room. Mu Jianping recognized her as the senior sister Fang Yi at a glance. Wei Xiaobao hurriedly took her into the room and rescued her.

Duolong was ordered to catch the assassins everywhere. He took people to Wei Xiaobao’s residence and claimed to have been ordered by the emperor to protect Wei Xiaobao. Wei Xiaobao worried that he would find Fang Yi and send him away in a few words. Duolong was uneasy and sent two guards to guard Wei Xiaobao. At the door, Mu Jianping and Fang Yi were so scared that they hid under the bed. Wei Xiaobao had just settled them when they suddenly saw Liu Yan coming to him. He concluded that the queen mother sent Liu Yan to kill him. Wei Xiaobao was so frightened that he let them both. He helped put the bathtub on the door, and tied a horse sling at the door, and hung two buckets of hot water and lime on top.

Liu Yan returned to her life to the Queen Mother, but the Queen Mother was unwilling to give up. She sent General Manager Ruidong to kill Wei Xiaobao and told him not to talk to Wei Xiaobao, so as not to be fooled by him. Ruidong soon came to Wei Xiaobao’s residence and wanted to take him back to see the queen mother. Wei Xiaobao had to go in and change clothes. Ruidong waited impatiently, so he pushed the door and entered. As a result, he was so hot that he yelled and Ruidong continued. Moving forward, Mu Jianping and Fang Yi pulled the lime stabbing, all sprinkled on Ruidong’s head.

Wei Xiaobao asked Ruidong to wash in the water basin at the door, but when the lime met with water, he began to bubbling. Ruidong was seriously burned. He desperately smashed the door inside and fell into the bathtub. The emperor sent four eunuchs to invite Wei Xiaobao. Wei Xiaobao was worried. He went back to see Ruidong and found that he was unconscious. Wei Xiaobao found the “Forty-Two Chapters” from him.

Wei Xiaobao followed the four eunuchs to see the emperor. He found that something was wrong. The eunuch took him to the direction of Cining Palace. Wei Xiaobao deliberately threw money on the ground and asked the eunuch to pick it up. He wanted to run away when he was not ready, but the eunuchs were not fooled and were at Wei Xiaobao. When he was unable to do anything, the guard Zhang Kangnian took someone to patrol here, and wanted to ask him for help.

The eunuchs insisted that the emperor asked Wei Xiaobao to go to Cining Palace. Zhang Kangnian clearly saw the emperor in the southern study room. Wei Xiaobao concluded that this was the queen mother doing a ghost again. The four eunuchs were arrested. Wei Xiaobao snatched the bags of money he had thrown on the ground from the eunuchs and gave them all to Zhang Kangnian. He asked Zhang Kangnian about the assassins and asked Zhang Kangnian to handle the four eunuchs quietly.

The queen mother waited hard for two hours, but she didn’t see the person who had been sent back to return. She was anxious. When Wei Xiaobao returned to his residence and saw Ruidong still in the bathtub, he took out a bottle of poison and sprinkled it on him, and Ruidong’s body was instantly turned into ashes.
